I've got a golden ticket!

“God has a ticket of destiny with your name written on it–no matter how old, how broken, how tired, or how frightened you are. No matter how many times you may have failed. God dearly longs for the day when he gets to hand you that ticket, smile, and whisper into your ear, “'You have no idea how long I’ve waited to hand this to you. Have a blast! I’ve already seen what you get to do. It’s better than you could have dreamed. Now hurry up and get on that train. A whole lot of folks are waiting for you to walk into your destiny and into their lives.'” --(Bill Thrall)

Countdown!

I looked at adding one of those cute little "tickers" to my blog; but, since I'm not having a baby, and I'm really, REALLY, technologically challenged, I'll just make my own little announcement:

11 DAYS UNTIL WE SET FOOT IN THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!

There, now I feel better. Although, I will have to update manually
....everyday
....hmmm
crud...
.... I'm going to google blog-tickers.
(Cater, quit laughing at me.)

Sugar-induced coma, anyone?

[Warning, I'm writing this post, primarily, to make my 2 sisters-in-law jealous.]

This is what passes for breakfast, around these parts. At least when Daddy's home and he can fix his famous (infamous?) "Chocolate Syrup".

A very thin chocolate 'gravy' poured over pieces of white bread, which have been slathered with butter. The children want to crown their Dad "King" or at least "Head Chef". Which truly wouldn't bother me....except for the sugar, and the more sugar, and the chocolate. .

Look at the little happy-smiley faced boy.

Carol & Liz, yes, it is as good as you remember.

Liz, you can come down here and we'll make you some.
Carol, you can fly us down there and we'll make some for you!

See how nice we are?!

Red & yellow, black & blue, don't you wish you had a shiner, too?

Our A. is one tough cookie! Having 2 older brothers makes her fearless and competitive. She did a great job sledding until she looked over her shoulder at her friend, and thus failed to see the tree. Remember "George of the Jungle"? Watch out for that treeee....!

She did cry right after it happened and on the way to the dr's. While the nurse was cleaning her eye, A. didn't even flinch. She dried her tears, turned to her Daddy and said "You're going to cut the tree down, right?"

She didn't cry again, but she is washing her hands with her eyes closed. She refuses to look at her eye in the mirror.

Of course, the tree is still standing. Daddy did, however, stop at the hardware store, on the way home from the dr's, and buy a foam tube to wrap around the tree. The kids might still run into it, but, at least it's a little friendlier, now.

Just watch

You'll need to pause my music player on the right, before you push play on the video. Just watch this video. Trust me, it's worth it.

Oh no, she didn't!

Oh well, at least she chose the fashionable gray color.
(Let's hope that's the original color.)

'tis the season...for a conspiracy theory

Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.
~Hamilton Wright Mabie

Don't you just love the idea of "a conspiracy of love"?

The above quote brought to mind this passage in Hebrews 10:22-25:
"So let's do it—full of belief, confident that we're presentable inside and out. Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let's see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching." (The Message)

Let's be co-conspirators, this Season!
